Two years ago, during the winter months, we provided protection and warming lamps to our chickens, who thrived, and evidently thought nothing of venturing out with a rather natural trough of wind protection on a sunny winter's day.

This winter we gifted our mature flock, along with a few quail, to a needy Hmong family through a local church contact. No doubt, next year (as every year), will bring new adventures and lessons in animal husbandry. We are but students in the Lord's classroom and relish every, single SECOND of it!

Yesterday's sunrise brang memories of gardening at this hour, rather than dread having to go outside. I so live, now, to order baby chicks, organic seed and turn the soil.

We often post scenic and close-up creature photos of the wild-side, as well as the more domesticated, for family to view on a familiar hosting photo web site. These memories are momental, original, and oh so precious to us. If anyone takes pleasure in them it only adds to ours!
